A Working Man

We were thrilled to welcome a major feature film production to our location house for what has become our most exciting booking to date. American Action thriller A Working Man, starring Jason Statham and directed by Suicide Squad and Fury director David Ayer, hired our South Wing as the set for the villain’s lair — and the transformation was nothing short of cinematic magic.

Our South Wing was chosen as the perfect setting for the home of the film’s antagonists — a group of human traffickers portrayed by Kenneth Collard, Emmett J Scanlan, and Eve Mauro. The filmmakers were looking for a space that conveyed luxury, decadence, and an underlying sense of danger. Our interiors delivered exactly that — with the existing Chinoiserie furniture, antique décor, and ambient lighting fitting seamlessly with the creative vision.

Rather than overhaul the space, the set designers leaned into its existing character, adding period-appropriate props to enhance the already dramatic aesthetic. A wall was built in front of the kitchen to create a larger, more enclosed room for the scene. Set dressing additions included macabre oil paintings, opulent drapes, and a striking marble statue — all of which elevated the visual mood of the set.

But the most memorable feature was a large fish tank, installed prominently in the center of the room, which played a key role in a pivotal scene. The set conjures a seductive, stylized atmosphere, where every frame drips with tension and dark intrigue.

In addition to the South Wing, the production also made use of our private car park for exterior shots, and our North Studio was booked as a support space for the crew. The flexibility and variety our location offers made it a practical and creative asset for the team.
