Angela Friedman, Luxury Lingerie Shoot in the South Wing
We were delighted to host luxury independent lingerie brand Angela Friedman for her Jewel Collection shoot at The Old Lace Factory.
The shoot took place in our South Wing, a distinctive period-style set built around a carefully curated collection of antique and aesthetic movement furniture. With its chinoiserie detailing, layered textiles, and plants, the space carries an elegant, cinematic quality that translates beautifully on camera.
What stood out most in this shoot was how seamlessly the collection and the interiors worked together. Angela Friedman’s designs, rich in embroidered lace, silk panels, and intricate floral detailing, felt almost as though they had been made for the room itself. The balance was so precise that the set felt purpose-built for the collection, rather than simply a backdrop.
The organic elements within the space played a key role in this harmony. Living plants, trailing foliage, and natural textures echoed the floral motifs within the lace, while brocade upholstery, embroidered lampshades, and mother-of-pearl detailing in the furniture added further layers of visual resonance. The result was a consistent dialogue between garment and environment, where each surface appeared to respond to the other.
Across the South Wing, the team moved fluidly between settings, from the atmospheric red-curtained bathroom used for the glow-in-the-dark pieces, to more natural compositions framed by green velvet drapery, black chinoiserie seating, and antique cabinetry. Rather than competing with the garments, each area seemed to heighten their delicacy and detail.
This shoot is a strong example of how the South Wing can feel less like a location and more like a fully formed set—particularly when working with collections that share its affinity for texture, pattern, and richly layered materiality.
This shoot demonstrates how the South Wing operates as a fully realised, period-inspired set for luxury lingerie and fashion production, where antique interiors and layered textures provide an immediately cinematic backdrop.
We work with a wide range of productions at The Old Lace Factory, from independent artisans to larger commercial campaigns, with the South Wing consistently chosen for its depth, atmosphere, and highly styled visual identity.
