Mavericks’ inaugural issue featuring Simon Pegg
We were delighted to host the cover shoot for the very first issue of Mavericks Magazine at The Old Lace Factory, welcoming the brilliant Simon Pegg to our North Wing studio. As a new luxury lifestyle publication, Mavericks celebrates individuality, creative risk-taking, and independent thinking, values that align closely with the spirit of our location house.
Photographed by the talented Lee Malone, the shoot made full use of the North Wing’s eccentric interiors, and industrial character, resulting in a series of beautifully atmospheric images. Beyond the studio itself, the team explored some of our more overlooked areas, from the raw, industrial outdoor staircase through to the front entrance, bringing a fresh perspective to the space and highlighting the versatility that makes The Old Lace Factory such a sought-after filming and photoshoot location in London.
This project marked our second editorial collaboration with Simon Pegg this year, and it was a genuine pleasure to welcome him back. As a location, we pride ourselves on offering a setting that feels distinctive, characterful, and slightly unconventional, a backdrop that naturally lends itself to bold creative direction and storytelling.
While we host a wide range of commercial and editorial shoots, it’s always particularly rewarding to see our space used in a way that embraces its unique personality. Productions like Mavericks reflect the kind of creative synergy we aim to foster: thoughtful, visually rich, and unafraid to do things a little differently.
